Collection of Information
Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you communicate with us via third party social media sites, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include any information you choose to provide such as your name, email address.
Public Dizzycoding Profile Information
When signing up for Dizzycoding you may choose to create a public profile, we collect information you choose to put in your profile including: Name, Twitter Handle, Profile Picture, Location, Paypal Address (to receive user donations). This information on your profile may be used or displayed throughout Dizzycoding, including but not limited to displaying your name/image next to one of your Dizzycoding answers.
Information we collect as you use our services
Our services are designed to help you develop faster by quickly showing the correct answer to a technical problem you are having. In order to improve our services and seamlessly provide you with answers to your technical problems we automatically collect the following data:
Email Address or unique identifier: If you are logged into your google account while installing Dizzycoding we will collect your email address, if you are not logged in will use a unique identifier to setup your account.
Code Snippets and Related Data: We collect snippets of code that you provide, and related data; including an answer title based on your last search term, the url of the page if the code was added using the “easy code snag editor”, the source of the code snippet if provided, the time the code snippet was added.
Upvote/Downvote Answer Feedback: We collect data when you upvote or downvote an answer. We collect the associated search term that returned the Dizzycoding answer, the time the answer was upvoted/downvoted.
Anonymous Answer Feedback: In order to determine the best Dizzycoding answers, we collect anonymous answer feedback on the Grepper answers that are displayed after you do a google search and a Dizzycoding answer is shown. The information we collect includes: whether the answer was copied, if a non-Dizzycoding result was clicked, the searched term that returned the Dizzycoding answer, the time the answer was shown.
Cookies: The Grepper website (http://www.Dizzycoding.com) uses cookies to allow you access to the Website and the Services, to improve and customise the Services and your customer experience and to understand which areas and features of the Website and of the Services are most popular.
Optional Information we collect as you use our services
Anonymous Search Terms: By default we collect anonymous search terms, whether or not a Dizzycoding answer was shown for the search term and the time of the search. We encourage users to send this data as it helps us improve the Dizzycoding search engine for our entire community. You may choose to disable anonymous collection of this data in your Dizzycoding account by going to My Account -> Settings -> Privacy -> Send Anonymous Search Data.
Coding Activity: Coding activity is not collected by default, you may choose to enable this feature under your Dizzycoding Profile. If you enable this feature, we will collect the following information: Dizzycoding answers that you viewed, copied or upvoted, the search term used to retrieve the answer, the time the answer was viewed.
Use of Information
We may use information about you for various purposes, including to:
Search and display code snippets to your and other’s code related searches.
Provide, operate, maintain, improve and promote the Website and Services to you.
Monitor and analyse trends, usage and activities in connection with the Services for marketing and advertising purposes.
Provide customer support services to you, respond to your questions and requests, send you technical or administrative updates and messages.
Providing your personal data to others
We do not share or disclose your personal data or content with any third parties, except as provided under this Policy.
The Website and the Services may contain links to other websites, whose privacy practices may differ from our own.
